of Raven Arts are the United States West Coast's Premier Artists
for Custom Modeling, Restoration and Repair, located west of
Seattle, WA. Dollar for dollar, we build simply the finest models
anywhere in the world.
We do not mass produce
our work off shore. Our models are built by professional Master
Model Builders with more than 35 years individual experience.
Each one is a custom work of art built by hand in the USA.
We can build to suit budget,
detail level, size, date specific details and/or whatever you
want to see in your custom model presentation. For really unique
models, you can do the research or have our top notch professional
researchers do it for you. For these reasons the same vessel
can be built in a vast number of configurations and prices varying
accordingly.
Our custom models are constructed
using a variety of materials depending upon the model. Lightweight
woods, hardwoods for details and hull planking, copper, cast
metal, brass, brass etching, custom brass turnings, polyresin,
cast resin, styrene and much more are included on most every
model. All rigging lines are highest quality waxed line for maximum
in longevity. We have a vast network of artists around the world
for specialty items as well on-site speciality casting abilities.
Traditional time tested
model building practices are integrated with the latest technologies
in chemical fastening, illumination and detail casting. We use
a combination of incandescent, fluorescent, electro-luminescence
and LED lights to create perfectly balanced lighting within the
ship. Cabins, stairways, deck houses, masts, decks can all be
lit as well as all the navigational lighting. Each can be independently
or combination controlled by small, discrete switches located
on the base of the model. Sound effects and limited motion can
also be added.
The extensive level of
attention that is paid to the fine details of each model is what
creates a work of fine art. Raven Models are shipped worldwide
with collectors around the globe. Our client list includes museums,
government officials, politicians, Naval Commanders, Heads of
State, celebrities and professionals of all kinds. All our work
