A freestanding, life-size
sculpture made entirely of copper and perched on a solid blue
granite base. Commissioned by Peter Sage of Medford, Oregon.
A Great Blue Heron made
of copper is perfectly balanced on one leg, poised to catch a
fish.
If your having problems
with herons, egrets or other large birds preying on your ornamental
fish, this is the environmentally sound answer to your dilemma.

Territorial by nature,
herons generally do not land to feed where another bird already
exists. Our Heron will scare 'em away from your ornamental fish
pond and add garden art to your decor.
In this sculpture a blue
heron is placed into a water feature filled with Koy. He's poised
in a fishing posture with his head aimed to one side, scanning
the waters below. A very natural pose that other herons accept
as real.

Each individual feather,
well over 1,200 of them, is hand cut and separately secured into
place one at a time to a hand hammered skeleton sheaved in copper.
All surface copper is finished in a hand painted custom patina
which will continue to evolve and change with time becoming ever
richer and deeper in color tones.
Ideal for interior or exterior
location. A variety of mounting options are available.
