The ship is measured for sails. Each one is custom cut to fit and hemmed to the precise size. Panel seams are sewn into each sail in the appropriate direction. Rigging loops are sewn into each corner. They are washed, pressed, starched and then formed into a wind filled shape with a genial stiffening agent to maintain their shape.
