The USS Ajax was laid down in 1941, launched in 1942 and was not decommission until 1986, finally scrapped in 1997. Her long career earned her five battle stars for service in the Vietnam conflict.

She could travel up to 19.2 knots carrying four 5" guns. She weighed in at nearly 9,000 tons and 530' in length with a beam of more than 73'.

During her long life, USS Ajax travelled the globe many times over providing routine and major repair and service support services for vessels of all types and sizes. Common ports of call being Pearl Harbor, Leyte Gulf, Okinawa, Bikini Atoll, Vietnam and more.

We build each model by hand in the USA using only professional grade materials.

Enhanced with exterior detailing including air brushed highlights and unsurpassed intricate detail painting and brass work. We use brass propellers, drive shafts and brass or stainless pedestals. Yes, that's a quarter!

Details of this quality are extremely rare to find in such a small scale model.

Each model is mounted on a natural wood base. Our standard base is made of Red Oak and finished in numerous coats of hand rubbed fine Danish oils. A wood mounted brass engraved nameplate is always included.

A protective flame polished clear acrylic cover is included for a top quality professional finish and to protect your investment for the years to follow as it continues to appreciate in value.
